Why a 9700k it's already surpassed by newer stuff for cheaper?

For a 3080 a GOOD 750w psu is enough but most people get a 850w just in case.

Basically get any a tier psu from this tier list that is at least 750w.

It is tho. Plenty of people on this forum alone with 650w high A tier psu's having issues with the 3080 and after a simple psu upgrade problem solved.

Uhhh....

750W ~ 850W is already fine for a RTX 3080.

1000W+ is only needed if going SLI RTX 3080, or (SLI) RTX 3090.

Well the soon to launch 5600x is supposed to be better and probably will be (wait for reviews). Currently a 10600k is same performance but cheaper AND has more threads which means it's gonna last longer than a 8core i7. Especially with the new consoles coming out.

Yeah.  They really ran all of those PSUs through their paces... NOT.

I can tell you first hand that the SF600 that "passed" in their testing does not work under all conditions with a 3080.

None of the PSUs in the video do.
