IPad pro 11 software support length

zFox

Given that the ipad pro 11 2018 has some some pretty good specs and 6gb RAM,

How long do you think apple will release software updates for it?

Do you think it will be all the way to 2025?

Will it be longer since it is a pro device rather than a standard tablet?

Like Teddy07 suggested, you'll likely get 5-6 years. Not sure about 2025, but you can't completely rule it out. The faster iPads get, the easier it might be to keep them updated.

it's their expensive PRO Device.

I give it at least 5 full Years, maybe even 6 or 7.

It's now 5 Year's since the Launch of the very first iPad Pro 12,9" 1st Gen, end of 2015, and it didn't drop support yet. That's why we can't say anything if it gets special Pro-treatment.

So if it doesn't get iPadOS 15 in a Year, it would've been 6 full years with the latest Software.

So that's why i think 6 years for every iPad Pro.

Like i said, there is a Chance, Apple does even 7 years.

Nice,

I read that the ipad pro 11 2nd gen doesn't have the strongest shell.

You think if I put it in a Supcase UB pro rugged full body armor it will be well protected?

It definitely will be. Really, any case will offer some improvement. You don't have to completely baby the iPad Pro without a case, but if you at all think it might take a tumble or face a lot of pressure (say, in a bag), a case might be wise.

If you try to snap it in half, it's pretty easy (low structural integridy, how Jerryrigeverything mentioned).

However.... How much of an issue is that in a realworld practical use? Probably almost irrelevant. Noone is gonna try to snap their Tablet, or apply strong force to it.
Be Carefull, probably use a Case, and nothing will happen. Just like nothing happened to most people who use one for 2 years already daily, and never had a bent issue.

Keep in Mind: If you put it on your Couch (example), and accidentally sit on it, there's a higher chance it might be bent.
