Which cooler to choose?

I am buying a R5 3600 for my new rig, and was looking for Air Coolers.

Is a beQuiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 too overkill? Should i do a normal Dark 4 or a Slim? Or should I chuck the Dark series altogether and go for something like a Pure Rock 2 Black? 

Also, should i instead go for Aios? I will be overclocking the Cpu so...in that case i will put up another post in Liquid Cooling as i have options there too.

What case are you using? If it doesn't fit it doesn't matter what cooler you have?

if you haven't bought it already, please don't. that case is an oven and no matter what cooler you pick, your temps will be bad.

get a better case (one with a mesh front) and a mid-level cooler.a normal dark 4 should be fine. or an arctic freezer 34 esports duo. or a scythe mugen

For budget dual-tower I'd recommend Gelid Phantom (black). Costs the least of any 120mm dual-tower, not the best by performance, but price/performance is great.

Costs around £30-35$ depending on where you live.

The 3600 comes for $201

3600x and 3600xt come for $250

the 3700x comes for $341

R3600s Run weird and hot.

EVO 212 works just fine bringing it down from 90c load the stock provides (by at least 25c). Just flip the bracket over, it supports AM4 now.

You want adequate cooling for that chip and excellent airflow casewise.

I am building in a NZXT H510 with a R5 3600, so should i keep the stock ( being barely enough ), a Cooler Master Hyper 212BE ( being a nice cooler for the 3600 ) or a beQuiet! Dark Rock 4 ( being overkill )?

In all honesty, the stock cooler is likely fine. What is the intended use case of the system?

I will be doing mostly gaming, VERY light video editing, and in the future hopefully streaming, so yea, just Gaming, Word and Instagram for now

i would stick with the stock cooler, if it's too noisy for you then you can buy an aftermarket solution

if not, then keep it and maybe buy some doritos

 

or up the GPU budget (from your prev post)

Honestly, probably fine...

 

I would just go with stock for now and see how it does. If in the future you have a need to run it maxed out for extended periods of time and the temps drift up into the 80's during the stressful load, then I would consider something like a hyper 212.

they arent good for airflow, but no point worrying bout it before it's even an issue yet
