Surface laptop not powering on

Hey guys, I currently work in retail and my boss has a display unit surface laptop that wont power on. He says if I can fix it he'll give me a good deal on it, and considering last time he said that he gave me a 1TB sshd for 10 CAD I'm thinking it would be pretty good.

I've tried holding down the power button and + button to reset, no luck.

Do yall have any tips? I'm thinking maybe a battery issue but I'm not sure because it doesn't work with the charger.

Have any of you had similar issues or know a potential solution?

Thanks:)

Edit - it's got a pentium 4415y, 128gb ssd, and 8GB ram. I'm pretty sure it's the newest generation.

PC:

i5 8400 - RTX 2060 - Strix B360-I - Thermaltake 240mm AIO - 16GB Vengeance RGB PRO - CRYSTAL 280X - HD Plex 400w AC/DC Converter

CUSTOM KEYBOARD:

Gmmk Pro  - Gateron ink Black v2 lubed and filmed - GMK Red Samurai - PC plate - Zeal stabs

DAILY TECH:

Samsung Gear s3 Frontier Smartwatch - Galaxy A70 - Bose QC Earbuds - Bose SoundLink Wireless - Ultimate Ears Wonderboom

I think you mean Surface Go, because no surface laptop comes with intel pentium processor.

Try this:

Try charing it for a USB c port (if it has one)
