Image resizing broken on FF for IOS/possibly IOS

AlTech

Browser, version and OS:

Browser: Firefox for IOS 29.0 although this has been reproducible on my side for a while.

IOS Version: 14.0.1 . Reproducible since at least IOS 13.0

Steps to reproduce/what were you doing before it happened?

1. Upload an image on mobile to a status update or a post.

2. Try to edit the size of the image once uploaded.

3. Selection covers whole image and prevents changing the size.

What happened?

Image resizing options can’t be selected for whatever reason and the user must fight to control the size boxes.

What did you expect to happen?

Resizing controls to be selectable so that images can be resized on mobile after upload.

Any other relevant details:

Only affects mobile. Doesn’t affect desktop

If it's a cloudflare error, what was the ray ID from the bottom of the error page?
N/A.

Does this also happen on https://beta.linustechtips.com/?

Yes, seems to also happen there.

There does seem to be a workaround by playing with it but the issue definitely still occurs.

Is this a new change, or just something that you've not noticed until recently (I suspect it applies equally to all iOS browsers, because they are all the same under the hood)? It seems like a browser issue to me, because the selection is being covered so it is wrong to be rendering the dialog below it.

You said there's a workaround - what is that?

So the workaround is hitting "Done" on the IOS keyboard window and then pressing and holding the resolution field you want to change and releasing after a few seconds. And then presumbaly repeat as needed for the other resolution field or tap the checkbox.

The checkbox on IOS isn't enabled by default.

I haven't tested to see if the issue still occurs in Safari. I can do that and also test the workaround in Safari if you want.

I've reported this to IPS, though I don't know if it's something that they can control (it seems like an iOS issue, but it may be possible to work around it).
