I decided to get a new gpu today, after years of my old one(NVIDIA 960).

However, I did something really dumb. I didn’t install the drivers for my GTX 1650 Super BEFORE physically installing the card.

Now, I’m stuck in BIOS(yes, I’ve tried reinstalling my old card, and my new card)

Im even tried to use my Integrated graphics, ASUS, but I still keep getting kicked to BIOS.

Edit: I also updated my BIOS

Driver's come AFTER the BIOS, and after/during when Windows loads from the boot HDD / SSD.

If you are instantly being kicked into BIOS, and unable to make it into loading Windows, driver's may not be the problem.

You don't need to install the drivers before-hand.

You can uninstall / install the drivers after you get into Windows with the new card.

Best practice is uninstall the drivers for the old card (left with no drivers), before install the new card into the PC.

Do you get any display when your monitor is plugged into the graphics card?

Do you even see the ASUS logo?

What is the rest of your system specs?

CPU -- make and model?

Motherboard -- make and model?

PSU -- make and model?

etc etc

I actually uninstalled my old 960 drivers, and then shutdown my pc, before installing my new GPU.

Currently, even with my old GPU plugged(with HDMI), I’m still stuck on VGA.

The GTX 1650 Super requires a PCI-E 6-pin power connector.

Do you have that connected?

Are you plugged into the the motherboard currently (e.g. using the iGPU)?

If you are using the VGA port on the graphics card / motherboard / monitor, then yeah, it the source would be VGA, and not HDMI...

You also didn't list system specs...

From what I can see:

  • Intel i7-8700 (non-K)
  • *some* ASUS motherboard (which model ?? )
  • 16GB (2 x 8GB) of DDR4-2400 RAM
  • 1TB Samsung SSD + 500GB WD Blue SSD + WD 2TB HDD
  • Unknown PSU

Okay...didn't see the ninja update.

You are using the iGPU within your i7-8700 then.

Are you not able to get any display at all by using the output monitor ports from either your original GTX 960, or GTX 1650 Super?

Usually the primary display adapter in the BIOS, by default is [Auto].

This setting should be under:

Advanced tab >> System Agent (SA) Configuration >> Graphics Configuration

Primary Display setting.

You should have options [Auto] [PEG] [IGFX]

When a graphics card is plugged into the PCI-Express slot, the iGPU automatically gets disabled, and the graphics card is enabled.

This is when [Auto] is selected.

[PEG] for graphics card in the PCI-Expesss slot, and [IGFX] for the iGPU.

Enabling Intel Integrated Graphics | XSplit Support

If that setting is correct, then you want to double check that your graphics card is being properly installed into the PCI-Express X16 slot.

Make sure it's properly seated into the slot, and locked in place by the mechanism that is part of the PCI-Express slot.

I don't see how your GTX 960 is not working all of a sudden...

Your GTX 1650 Super not working could be due to a faulty card from the factory -- there is the chance.

Both cards not working, and kicking you into the UEFI BIOS usually means something is wrong at a hardware level...
