QUESTION: Is 1080p image quality better on a 25" or a 27" display?

If u intend to get say a RTX 3080, i would not recommend a 1080p display, a 3080 is massively overkill for such a resolution. So is a 3070 really.

However if ur looking at getting a 3060, sure a 280hz 1080p display is fine.

I may get a RTX 3070 but it really depends on whether RTX 3060 Ti will perform better than RTX 2080 in which case I will certainly go for the 3060 Ti.

You're right, if I get the 3070, I will definitely need a 1440p 27" display. Would LG 27gn750 fits the requirement then?

No because thats a 1080p display.

 

The best 'monitor' for 1440p is the Samsung Odyssey, if ur ok with a curved display.

My desk has a depth  of less than 80cm, so curved monitor is not a possible option to me.

 

About vg27aq there is a newer version vg27aql1a. Which one is better?  I have had some bad experience in computer  parts that latest models might not be better than their predecessors.  That worries me.

Well it all depends on how much uniformity matters to you. For me it matters a lot. Hence why my rating system puts the older model at a higher socre than the new one as the new one has rather crap uniformity (a lot of BLB & IPS glow). The new one also has worse factory calibration.

 

However the new one has a few advantages. Its 10bit, it has better HDR (gets brighter) and has slightly better color coverage. it also has Local Dimming but its a very cheap implementation that some people may want to just disable.

My local retail here said AQ is out. Only the new AQL1A is available. Very disappointing, the original AQ is superior over the AQL1A nearly all aspect specially response time.

With high refresh monitors u wouldn't be aiming to play any game with variable refresh at ~60fps. You would tune the graphics settings so ur able to run as close to the max refresh rate as possible.

The test is there to just show u how the monitor reacts when it has to lower its refresh rate when using gsync / freesync.

I mean it needs to be 16.6ms or below for 60Hz so it’s not going to be noticeable.

Will a 1080p native resolution monitor restrict the frame rates of a game.

 

For instance, I have a RTX 2080Ti and ASUS TUF GAMING VG259QM. When playing CS GO, the RTX card should output over 200 frames per second . Will the VG259QM display at 60FPS because it has a resolution 1080p?
