G-Sync vs G-Sync compatible!

Hello guys, i wanna upgrade to 1440p 144hz, and i wanna know if i understand corectly, If i play for example a game at 1440p but locked at 60 fps, does the g sync compatible monitor have what it takes to display the image properly, or i must buy a g sync one, from what i ve heard the g sync ones sync frames in full range, so no matter if the game drops frames it will look smoother?

It generally depends on the monitor. You'll have to look at the ranges in each one you're interested in.

you generally dont want your games to dip below 50 fps anyways, which is where freesync will stop working

below that it'll look choppy even with gsync working

 

but... i'm having horrible experience with gsync compatible right now, so it's either normal panel or full gsync for me

actually depends on the monitor. if it's one that has freesync premium (pro) and a wide range, it should support LFC which can enable adaptive sync below the minimum by doubling the refresh rate. but i'd still stay above the minimum, the LFC is best when you get stutters
