I'm surprised there isn't one already, I thought this was a tech forum

In real life, I act like I know less about tech than I actually do.

Main build: CPU: AMD Phenom ii X4 955 Black Edition @ 4,0GHz (Cooler Master 212) | GPU: MSI RX580 8Gb | RAM: 12Gb DDR3 | PSU: Chieftec CTB-500S  | Mobo: Asus M4A87TD/USB3 | Storage: Seagate 500Gb HDD

Yes, I'm aware my CPU is a huge bottleneck. No, I don't really care.

Laptop: Asus TUF FX505DT 60Hz 8Gb model

Really anything in this forum apart from off-topic and maybe networking could be put under General Discussion.

I just think it could ignite more discussion about it, and it'd be easier to find topics about it.

Hmm, if you're talking about privacy softwares, there's softwares subforum

If you want to talk about privacy as a topic, GD.

or even OT if it doesn't involve tech

@piratemonkey have done a privacy guide, it's linked in his signature, and that's a good enough place to discuss privacy

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Still not enough content. As its been mentioned anytime someone asks for another subforum, there would first need to be too many topics all around forums about the subject. In that sense, VR is more likely to get its own sub than anything else.

Indeed, the point is that General Discussion encompasses everything that is on-topic to the forum. If we just had General Discussion though, it would be way too much content, so common themes get their own subforum. Privacy and security are important, but there are very few topics about it at the moment so it just doesn't make sense to have a dedicated subforum for it. The more subforums there are, the less discoverable each one becomes, so we don't want to add them without reasonable justification.
