Basically, macs suck at gaming, and are only good for other things like video editing and the internet, just like any other windows computer at the same price. Also they are shiny. Although, I think he just needs an update.

The new OS X is free isn't it? Why not update?

There might be little coding differences in the two OS's that might spark incompatability and the bros making the game probably don't want to keep coding for an outdated OS...

Think of it this way. Microsoft are a company that has been forced to have compatibility since so many people still have older versions. Apple just don't care, but everyone is better off for it. Hello XP?

well MS is also trying to push people off of XP with Windows '9'. Older software has to be discontinued at some point, especially if there are security threats.

the "look" of it

same idea as some one disliking win8 i guess

they look almost identical, there is literally no reason not to upgrade to mavericks, it has everything that lion has + more features and better compatability, also improves performance and battery life (if its a laptop) by a considerable margin

Those who do get a performance boost seem to be getting something decent from it, but there are lots of people reporting decreases with it. I've been dealing with it first hand for 2 weeks now and the games that will even launch any more are next to unplayable with fps and audio problems.
