How many Amps will a psu pull out of a wall socket?

As stated in the title.

I live in an area which uses 220V mains.

My PSU is a Antec EAG PRO 750 and system pulls approximately 300W on full stress. 

  • AMD Ryzen 7 5700X Stock
  • B550 Aorus Elite V2 Rev1.2
  • G.Skill TridentZ RGB 3600Mhz 32gb (8gb x4)
  • MSI Mech 2X RX6600
  • Deepcool AK620 WH
  • Deepcool CK500 WH
  • Kingston A2000 250gb + WD Blue 1tb HDD, Sn550 1tb + MX500 1000gb
  • Antec EAG Pro 750 80+G
  • Benq Mobiuz EX2510 144Hz

Watt / Volt = Amp

 

300W / 220V = 1.36A 

 

As a rule of thumb if you need it, 1mmq of copper wire is ok for up to 8A-220V for short distances.

P = IV (ideal circuit), I = P/V

300 watts / 220 volts

About 1.36, which seems about expected, when the average US home can push 15 (for very demanding devices)

It's 15 amps at 120v though not 220v. 220v or 240v in US homes is going to be for large appliances and then I think it's 40amps

About 1.36, which seems about expected, when the average US home can push 15 (for very demanding devices)

The only thing though is the average voltage for residential homes in the United States is 120V at 60Hz. Since the OP mentioned 220V, this is outside of the US especially in Europe/Asia where they have 220V at 50Hz.  You do have 240V coming into the home in the United States that uses a split phase (120V/240V) where one circuit runs off of 120V. 15 Amp circuits are the average as you mentioned but others go up to 20 Amp, depending on when the house was built.

Damn 2020 is pretty bad for me. 
Changed PSU power cable to the manufacturer supplied cable and while I was changing it I hear very faint hissing type of noise from inside the psu.
The psu switch is flipped off and the sound still comes. It only goes away if I pull the power plug entirely.
The sound can be heard only if I put my ears against the exhaust of the psu.
Note the PSU switch is off but mains power is on and the cable is connected. Only PSU is connected and all other appliances in the vicinity are off.
