Hyperlink not being removed from quoted post

TempestCatto

Browser, version and OS: Firefox 80.0.1 64bit

What happened? Copied a username from a different website and pasted it into a quote. It came with a hyperlink so I went to remove said hyperlink. Regardless of clicking the "remove link" button when inside the hyperlink editor, nothing changes.

I feel like it shouldn't go away, if anything I like that it keeps the links.

This isn't about pasting keeping links, but about attempting to remove those links failing.

As a workaround you can paste unformatted text with Ctrl + Shift + V.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • 3 weeks later...

I have managed to come across the same issue.

@colonel_mortis Do you know of a workaround, other than to just copy and paste the link text from the link dialog into the main post and then delete the entire link manually?

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.
