What is the best power supply for Msi Mag X570 Tomahawk wifi?

I been trying to find the best one for the motherboard because I going to use it with RTX 3070 gpu so I want one one that at least has 800 wats and is future proof because it really confusing and hard.

Welcome to the community!

Choosing a PSU is a bit more complex than choosing a wattage number. There's very good 450W units and very terrible, dangerous 800W units.

Let us know where you live and your whole system (or at least the CPU you're pairing with the motherboard) and we'll give you a good recommendation, likely in the ballpark of $100.

For a high-end general purpose/gaming system, you're probably looking at 650W.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

Check out the Tier List and Pick something from Tier A..

I would recommend like a Corsair RMX 850W as an example, excellent PSU with a long warranty of 10 years.

I upgraded my system about 3 months ago?? Maybe 2.

I was recommended the Corsair RM 550X.

I am running a Ryzen 5 3600 with a GTX1070. Same MB as you are using.

Apparently my 10 year old PSU was not recommended to use on a new system.

FYI if you want to tag someone put the @ symbol in front of their name.

@Joeiscool

BTW, how is that case? I bought my son the Skeria 500X for his system last Fall. It is HEAVY!!!

Hi there,

Is there any specific reason for you to go for an 800 watt PSU?

RTX 3070 GPU should do just fine with just 650 watt PSU, which is my personal thought. I would recommend that you go for corsair RM650x, which is 650 watt and has adequate power and performance.

Other options are cooler master MW650, thermal take tough power grand 650, and EVGA P2.

Hope this helps! Cheers!
