My new 4k monitor is laggy

TeeGo21

It feels below 60 fps whenever I see a video, and since I have 2 monitors (the other isn't 4k), I duplicate the screen to compare and I can the difference. I already updated my drivers, I have 32GB of ram and I have a GTX 1660 Super, so I don't think thats the problem. My monitor is this one btw (Samsung 28-Inch UE570 UHD 4K Gaming Monitor)

You are trying to watch shows or game on the monitor?

Looking at rtings, the professional display reviewers, and refresh rate and response times should be decent.

My first thought is that card to too weak to drive 2 monitors, one of which is 4k

Intel 12400F | 2x8 3000Mhz Corsair LPX | ASRock H570M-ITX  | Noctua DH-N14 | Corsair MP50 480GB | Meshilicious | Corsair SF600Fedora

Thanks let me know if I said something useful. Cheers!

If I were to only the 4k monitor, do you think it'd run smoothly?

Potentially, less resolution to drive

I have to monitors, they're both plugged in correctly, and my monitors randomly turn on and off.

Check if your HDMI cables are not 1 dollar chinese unprotected cables (a way to say it.)

Check if the power cable is plugged in correctly.

Move the monitors.

Try one single monitor and see if it works.

And finally, if all of those dont fix that, just send it to repairs if you have warranty.

Or not, but it may cost more.

I have these 2 monitors that are almost the same size, however when I go to display settings It shows it's way bigger.

your computer doesnt know the actual size, only resolution

so they scale it based on resolution

edit: as for how to resize, the only way is to change resolution afaik... it's one of the downside of having different resolution displays

you can use GPU scaling to scale one monitor's resolution up or down, but it makes things blurry

if you mean resize in the settings window. you cant, the primary monitor just looks bigger i belive.

Anything i've written between the * and * is not meant to be taken seriously.

keep in mind that helping with problems is hard if you aren't specific and detailed.

i'm also not a professional, (yet) so make sure to personally verify important information as i could be wrong.

I managed to catch what I meant when the monitors turn off, I've already plugged them to another power source and the HDMI and Display Port cables are brand new. I want to try the DDU-ing it but I don't want to make it worse. Here's a link to the video (idk how to upload).

Try DDU-ing

Display driver uninstaller, then install the latest driver from GPU manufacturers website

Just right click a spot on your desktop and sweet the resolution to the recommended one

If that doesn't work, install your GPU driver, then try again

Have your GPU driver and DDU ready before booting into safe mode
