I’m staggered! Just looked on eBay in the uk for 3080s and there are at least two where people have bid over £10,000 (Or nearly $13,000). I mean why? That’s nuts, just wait a while and get one at the normal prices!!

probably because they are not real offers.

I would assume they are fake offers to drive up the prices, because people don't like these scalpers scalping.

Yep, a lot of people bid the cards into the stratosphere with fake accounts to try and screw over the scalpers.

At the end of the day people who try to buy them at that price rate don't ever win. Yeah you may have a new GPU that few could get their hands on right now but you ONLY paid like 5000% more than if you just had waited for it to become available later.

Look at my rxt 3080 I just  paid 2000 probably a good deal because everybody says it has a good price to performance ratio

It's been pretty much confirmed someone made a bid bot to false bid to drive up prices and troll the pants off scalpers.
