FFmpeg works great, like e.g. ffmpeg -i video.mp4 out%d.png

thanks, but it's there one with a gui where you can see the frames and select which ones you want?

No idea, I only use FFmpeg myself for my needs.

Tried and it didnt work.

With most video editing software (like davinci resolve which is free) you can export the current frame being previewed as a png.

It’s missing some core stuff. Noise reduction, lens correction, effects, etc.

I use a highly suspicious application titled "Free Video to JPG Converter" from a highly suspicious company called "DVDVideoSoft".

I haven't been assimilated into the collective yet, but ymmv.

Consider this a warning that the application comes from a company known for distributing adware, and any amount of common sense would tell you "do not install it".

I think I've done it with VirtualDub in the past. You'll need to manually install required codecs for it to work though (in order to decode the said video and extract frames from it).
