what is he frequency and the timings for both kits? i mean first you pay extra for rgb and second, one could come with better IC's than the other.

RGB..?

Assuming both kits are identical in terms of capacity, frequency and timings.

$20 sounds about right for an RGB tax, at least for Corsair. If you don't mind the lack of a fancy heatspreader and they're identical elsewhere, you might as well just go for the LPX. It's got the advantage of you not having to worry about it not fitting underneath large heatsinks, if anything.

The RGB sticks are taller. The 'LPX' have pretty minimal heatsinks and are basically the size of your everyday green RAM sticks. Corsair's page for them advertises them as 'low profile', which is what 'LPX' may stand for.

Both 8GB*2 3600mhz kits. So one is not better than the other?

Assuming they're identical in specs, no, just rgb tax.

If they've got the same rated timings, then nope. Unless RGB means anything to you.

I came across 2 kits of same speed Corsair VENGEANCE ram sticks. One has RGB, other does not. The one without RGB has a tag called LPX RAM and its ~20$ cheaper. What is the difference here? :)

theres a thing called 'timing'. Look for a number then it  says 'cl'. Or just send us links of both sticks.

i think you read the prices wrong.

The rgb is indeed more expensive than the non rgb.

otherwise there is negligable difference.

i believe the RGB pro one does have better silicon inside it but it shouldn't make much of a difference if ur just gonna use XMP.

The difference is one has RGB lights, the other does not (as people have mentioned a couple times already in this thread).

The main specs of the RAM sets are the same:

Memory Size 16GB Kit (2 x 8GB)
Tested Latency 18-22-22-42
Tested Voltage 1.35V
