I am gonna build a new pc for the new 30 series and amd CPUs and wanted to know what would the best ram to get?

Check with your motherboard's compatibility list first. You don't need AMD optimized if the memory is listed in the QVL. I am not a fan of RGB memory so I cannot help you out there. That being said, both sets would perform equally with XMP on. I am currently using G.Skill Ripjaws V 3200 4x 16 GB on a B550 motherboard without issues but I've used corsair as well on B450. Comes down to your personal preference in RGB.

What brand would be better or has better performance? My motherboard is a x570 tomahawk.

gskill has better performance for the money up the entire stack, if both kits are cl18 3600 the gskill kit should at least be cheaper, or u can just pick something directly from the motherboard qvl.

Performance would be equal with them as they share the same specs. As for the company, those are my first G.Skill modules. I've been using Corsair several times over the years and their RMA support is pretty good. Usually less than a week to get a replacement shipped.

Performance are the same, tuning potential are just as limited (due to heavy binning from both companies) and price are the same, it comes to which looks better to you then

Look at reviews...see what chips are in that particular memory kit, etc.  Corsair and G. Skill both have (subjectively) good and bad stuff.  I'm using G.Skill in my current box and I've used Corsair on the last two.

Perhaps it's just me being anal retentive but I wouldn't trust chips from a semiconductor manufacturer I've never heard of.  It used to be that Samsung B-Die was the best thing for (first gen) Ryzen as well.  Right now I (personally) would go for Samsung, SK Hynix, etc.  The bigger names.  Of the two kits you showed, I think both are using Samsung.  Both of the kits also have a limited lifetime warranty.

Let's be honest, the G.Skill kit looks better.

 

Asking in general to anyone else watching, does anyone else think the minute difference in timings between the two kits would make a difference?  What if OP went to a lower mem frequency but got a better CAS latency?

Neither are using the legendary Samsung stuff, Corsair and Gskill use Hynix CJR and DJR for these kits. Nobody other than Crucial uses Micron (and Micron owns Crucial, that's why) for these fast stuff

Given the DDR4-3600 rating and those CL18 timings (identical timings even on the Corsair?), definitely looks like SK Hynix DRAM chips for both.

Timings are 18-19-19-39 on that kit.

 

I'm just slightly prejudiced against Corsair since on their lower offerings they started using a Micron-owned offshoot that I had never heard of.  Been burned by budget manufacturers too many times to not be biased.

Yeah, Spectek is what I was thinking of.  My family bought some of that for a budget rig...fortunately, not for gaming.  That particular memory kit seems to chug...but it doesn't need to perform that well.  No errors...just lackluster.

Out of curiosity, what Spectek kit did you get? Is it the Adata kit mentioned in your sig or the newer DD4 kit?

The one in my sig, my only DDR4 system is my laptop which does not support any kind of memory tuning. Still disappointed by running 2400MHz CL18
