Quick Question Guys:

I Have An i5-7400.

3ghz Stock - 3.5 Boost

4 Core/ 4 Thread

So, I Bought A PC Second Hand And Cleaned It Up. It Works Great Except For One Thing.

The CPU Is Always At 100% Even When Playing Minecraft Win10 Edition On The Lowest Setting.

Is It A Faulty CPU Or Is It Just A Crappy CPU?

I've Never Had Such A Slow CPU When Gaming.

On The Bright Side, It Never Gets Hot. Even At 100% Load It Never Goes Above 50°C. But Even Then, It's Just So... Bad

Also To Note, The Previous Owner Never Cleaned It And I Pulled An Extremely Thick Ring Of Dust Off The CPU Cooler When I Cleaned It. Could The Heat Have Damaged It? Because It Was Bad... Very Bad.. Like Worse Than That Time Linus Done That PC Cleaning Video A Couple Years Back. I Had To Wear A Mask Just To Open It.

a damaged CPU wont run at 100%, it just wont run or be unstable

sounds like it's a software optimization issue or something else

what GPU are you using? integrated?

I Have A 1060 3GB And I Have Tried Integrated And The 1060. It Just Seems Way Slower Than It Should Be.

Well I Had To Take Out The 1060 But Temps Are Well Below Throttling. Latest Drivers For Both Windows And Nvidia.

2 x 4gb

At First I Thought It Was A Ram Issue As Well. But If It Was A Ram Issue, Then Minecraft Would Run Smoothly. So It's Not Really That

RAM usage % when running minecraft? might be running out of RAM so your CPU is compressing data/moving it to pagefile causing high usage

above 85-90% is considered "full"

Thanks A Bunch For The Help 🙃

Well Atleast I Know I Just Have A Crap CPU

...? i didnt say it's crap

it's more than adequate to play minecraft

i play minecraft on my i5 6600 cpu, which is equivalent in performance

what you're lacking is probably RAM capacity

Minecraft Is Using About 3.5gb Of Ram, I Have A New Samsung 860 EVO. I'm Not Really Sure What Else It Could Be.

The Core i5-7400 has a 65W TDP rating. At 100% load, XTU is showing 17W. Are you sure your CPU is running at 3.0 GHz when loaded? Turn on the CPU MHz monitoring option in XTU or use CPU-Z. Make sure your CPU is not power limit throttling. HWiNFO shows all of the reasons for throttling. Your CPU might be running at 100% utilization because it is not running at its full rated speed.
