Has anyone played this game? I've been playing for a little over a year and have found it to be an awesome game. It's a 100% free game on Steam. There are no micro transactions, all weapons unlocked so you get to use all weapons. You see a little advertising for the military but a small price to pay for an awesome game.

Why does this come off as an advertisement

This has been out for over a decade (or ealier versions). Most lost interest by now.
Altho its a good game, was made in the beginning as a tactical simulator for the US Army.

I remember my friend having this game its just a cool fps that the army helped make, I am going to get it

It's an older game but it plays really well. Because it's a tactical game, you can't just run around like other games and shoot everything that moves and expect to stay alive. I thought I would shoot this game out there since it has been around for a while and it's a free gem that many may not know about.

For the short time I played the game, I kinda liked it.

 

I found the Army ads a bit annoying, more specifically the ones where it's just Marines doing cool stuff. The ones where it shows you military operations and firearm safety/use I found interesting as a gun nut. But I can't beat Insurgency IMO.

 

Granted it's free so I guess it doesn't have to.
