Another way to look at it is building a PC is a one time expense (mostly).

If you buy a car first, it requires gas, insurance, maintenance, etc etc.

It'd probably be easier to buy the computer first, and then the car.

You can get a decent car for 3000$-4000$. I would say spend more than 3000$+ on a car and 1000$ on the PC.

I don't know if you secretly hoped everyone in the site would talk you into the pc (seeing as it's a tech site in the first place) but let's be honest here, unless you've got your everyday transport settled, spending a $5000 budget on a PC is only another obstacle between you and getting stuff done (or at least for the majority of us who study/work/do things outdoors sometimes).

Well I don't know but I (not everyone is like me ) seem to be constantly buying random stuff for my despite it being already really good + there is buying games so i would necessarily consider a PC as a one time investment. Although nothing compared to amount of money one can spend on a car.

You could get a decent PC for $600-$700 and save the rest for a car.

You can get a VERY GOOD gaming PC with anywhere from $800-$1000 if you're really that desperate for a new PC, spending more would be overkill and really going to be a bad investment in 2-3 years.

what are the specs of your current pc?  depending on what it is you may be able to reuse some parts for your next build and save a bit.  but you definitely don't need to blow 5k on a pc
