ok so I have a ryzen 5 2600, 16gb 3200mhz, gtx 2069 build rn and I just found a stash of old pcs and stuff. i found a pc with a lil quadro k2200. not the best but it's decent. I sometimes to sum relatively basic video editing (think along the lines of random AMVs) and im looking to start with blender. so I was thinking if it'd be smart to install that quadro in my build. I know the 2060 is perfectly capable of doing either of those things but since I always hear that quadro's are so good for stuff like that I thought I'd ask it here. of course it wouldn't be plugged in to my 16x slot cause i wanna keep that extra bandwidth for gaming but I was just wondering if it's something any of y'all have had experience with or any recommendations or suggestions regarding the topic. I do also have 2 other builds one has an i3-4130 and 8gb of ram and one has an i7-860 and 8gb of ram. I thought maybe I should just put the Quadro in one of those (probably the i7)? idk I just wanted yalls opinion on this whole matter.

gtx 2069

nice

that quadro is very dated so idk if it's of any use now, driver support might've ended years ago, so look into that first before doing anything

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

a what...???

Current PC spec. in my profile.
Can I realistically call myself a gamer, if I only play ONE, twenty year old game...?

Did you test boot it, before you built in into the case?

WHY NOT...?!

Quadro optimization is pretty much limited to professional computing like Solidworks or CATIA at this point. No use for video editing, not even the slightest

Do you need mission critical reliability?

Do you need large amounts of VRAM?

Do you use an application that requires a Quadro to function?

If you don't answer yes to any of those you don't need it. Besides that quadro is old as shit (640 CUDA cores vs 1920 in your RTX 2060). Your CPU could probably come close to beating it out. Your 2060 on the other had will crush it...as well as having way more VRAM available than it.

That quadro is as powerful as a gtx 750, no driver will change that. I guess you can do the math by yourself.
