Is it mounted completely down to your motherboard? Those temperatures seem pretty high considering the TDP of the chip (I use the same CPU but I have an AIO on it). That being said, I would definitely check your mount. What is your airflow looking like otherwise? Do you have an exhaust fan on the back to expel that hot air out the back or top of your case?

Its kinda high, try to reseat the cooler, it might not be making proper contact with the CPU.

I will recommend an NHu12s (or an NHd15 (maybe)) for your PC build. Quote or @ me @Prodigy_Smit for me to see your replies.

3 intake and one exhaust...temp stays between 60 to 70 degree celsius during day to day usage and gaming..but it is picking 95 degree celsius during video compression and also my setup is new...should i buy an aftermarket coler?

What case is that? Are those front fans against a glass or do they have a function in moving air into the case?

This is a very budget oriented case in INDIA ,comes from a company named ant esport..the front of the case have mesh design which makes it a very good budget case with great airflow.

I’m actually really surprised with how many people let their CPUs sit in the 80s-90s. Mine will hit those temps too, but at full load with something like linpack extreme and a 1.2ghz oc.

This was indeed my thoughts back when 3rd gen Ryzen was launched. Turns out 3600 and up is much hotter than previous gen CPUs and the stock isn't enough for them at heavy loads.

I mean, it really doesn't bother me when people use after market coolers for a rather budget and low power cpu but in my experience it's really totally fine to use the stock cooler... I did all kind of benchmarks  including prime95 for a couple of hours and temps were always around 80C in that ...

In hindsight that was pretty stupid,  there's basically no point in having this test specifically run for so long as it's producing unnecessary heat and wear and consumes a lot of energy - and I don't even like maths 🤣

During normal usage, gaming, benchmarks like 3dmark, superposition etc the CPU barely ever goes above 60C.

I really think people with higher temps just didn't seat the cooler correctly, it's a bit flimsy for sure,  but does work well when mounted correctly - btw I'm using the default fan curve,  I barely hear it except under load.

Or maybe the pre applied paste is bad.

Funny enough my 3600 isn't really hotter than the 2200G I had before that (with the exact same cooler iirc)

But I can see that it's a use case thing also,  if I'd run heavy tasks like prime95 etc all day I maybe would want a better cooler too,  but for gaming / light video editing (1080p/ 1440p) it's really fine imo.

Also for overclocking a better cooler would be necessary I suppose,  but I have it stock and on Windows balanced (gives me better scores than any of the Ryzen powerplans)

Also minimum processor state 85% / maximum 100%, the whole PC just runs smoother like that, not sure why.
