lemme take a look, I have not used virtual box in a few years.  Have you tried changing the resolution inside the distro?

I have been trying Deepin Linux in VirtualBox but when I try to insert the VirtualBox guest editions (to give me the option of going fullscreen mode) it said it could not load. How can I get into Fullscreen mode?

My Laptop: A MacBook Air

My Desktop: Don’t have one

My Phone: An Honor 8s (although I don’t recommend it)

My Favourite OS: Linux

My Console: A Regular PS4

My Tablet: A Huawei Mediapad m5

According to the Arch Wiki, you need to install virtualbox-guest-utils and possibly linux-headers and virtualbox-guest-dkms. I would install them using the distributions cli package manager. They seem to be in Debian's repositories which deepin is built from.

yup, right control + f on virtual box

Edit, you should be warned that distro is coming right along and is chock full of eye candy, but it always runs like crap in a vm.  It is just too resource intensive unless you have beefed up that vm.

That just leaves you with black borders around the screen

Ya, there are some area's where vmware is just better.  It sounds like you need to install virtualbox-guest-utils and virtualbox-guest-dkms.

Why would you mess with a VM for a Linux distro? Run it from a USB or, even better, external hard drive. Much better experience.

It is working now and is in fullscreen mode with no black borders. It turns out I just had to twick the resolution settings

awesome.  If this is for your fathers multimedia build, you might consider ubuntu studio.  It would be a bit less resource intensive and a bit more user friendly.
