Why is everyone getting Vega 56s?

This may sound like a LinusTechTips title, but I see a lot of Vega 56 questions in the forum. Is the used Vega 56 good value now? Should I regret my recent 1070 purchase (spent 196 for an Amp Extreme)?

vega 56/64 was a failure, nobody is buying them at this point for the most part :) Its more then likely just the owners that have had them asking questions. 1070 is a good gpu and you should not have any regrets.

I didn't see any posts about Vega 56...

Have no regrets,the 1070 is pretty good.

Well,they were very easy to overclock,you could overclock one to the moon and get better performance then a RTX 2070.

There was also the whole BIOS flash thing that you could flash a Vega 64 BIOS on the Vega 56 to unlock more performance.

Id rock a Vega 56 or 64. My rx580 is getting a bit long in the tooth and im a cheapo.

Vega 56 is a great card but i don't think you can get one for under $200? Maybe with the shitty blower cooler but not good one like Sapphire Nitro.

I paid 220 for a Sapphire Nitro.  That was months ago.

Facebook marketplace.   Just looked again and there are 2 for sale around here for 200 and 210 currently.  Both Gigabyte with custom coolers.

I always forget Facebook Marketplace existed. Just looked up the Vega 56 and found a blower for 220 and a Strix for 250. We live and we learn I guess lol.

As I understand it, to buy a vega you kinda have to like to temper with stuff like undervolt and such ... lots of hours involved to get the best out of the gpu ... it's a bit less plug and play than a 1070 ...

 

I would so much like to find a vega 64 for really cheap tho ...
