Some people clearly don't realise there's a dark theme for the forums, and I think using a single colour in posts should just default a post back to neutral. I've seen this a fair few times over a couple days (I always say something, so they've since been fixed, but still).

What exactly are you suggesting? (Edit : maybe you mean remove colours tbh I think there should just be a reminder when posting with black or white

not for colour to be blocked entirely, bad topic name maybe. Just so that there's a way around people posting threads people using dark them can't see. Maybe an option to disable certain text formatting elements in settings? (I don't code, and idk how hard anything would be).

back in 2016, i remember the norm is to use a chrome extention called "monkey something something(forgot the name)" and run a script to automatically turn dark text white for dark theme users

 

not sure if that solution is still a thing now

Another suggestion is a filter built into dark mode that changes the dark posts to white.

While that may fix it for PC, and I will probably look into it now, doesn't help with mobile dark theme users.

I just select the text in cases like those. Generally works just fine.

That's probably Tampermonkey.

The core issue is that they paste from somewhere, and usually have Chrome. Which brings formatting with copied part. Solution is to remove formatting as editor already asks.

 

This has been discussed multiple times in the past, and conclusion is that there are less of problematic posts than good uses for text formatting. So just report any obnoxious formatting and moderation will take a look.

I believe it's fixed in chrome, and it's just some bad versions of Edge that do it. I've lot dug into the details on which browsers are affected recently though.

 

As such, the posts that are not readable on the night theme should be very infrequent at the moment. If that's not the case, can you link a few examples from the past couple of days?

The last part was probably not aimed at me...? As I've recently only seen those from spammers and people using Google translate (or something similar).
