On YouTube mobile, adds play, but content does too?

I've noticed on my YouTube mobile, that sometimes I will open a video, then it will play video audio, as well as ad audio, but only video from the video. Has anyone else experienced this bug?

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

I gather you're on an iPhone then, so your only option might be using youtube.com in Safari. Thanks Apple!

Sometimes I find (on Android) that if there's a bug with it uninstalling and reinstalling* helps. So maybe try that?

* On Android YouTube is a system app for some reason, so I can only uninstall the updates to it

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

It only happens 1 in 10 times, and restarting the app fixes it. I'm too lazy to reinstall. I was just wondering if anyone else had the problem.

As @Master Disaster said, just use YT vanced, the latest version has a sponsor block, that blocks Linus' smooth segue. Yep as soon as I updated to the latest version, I tried it on one of the LTT videos, and it does the job.

Sorry I didn't see the whole post.

BTW Why not switch to ANDROID and give google your data to mine it ?

How does it do that? How does it detect parts of a video as sponsored?

I don't know its magic, I am not really into computers and stuff, I just started learning python.

But rest, assured it does the job, the latest version 15.33 or 15.34 has an option called "sponsor block(beta)". It can block intros, sponsor segues, even self promotion. Just now I was watching an LTT vid, and as soon as Linus was bout to say LTTSTORE.COM, the sponsor block skipped the part.

It must use some sort of ML or whacky stuff or maybe some data from YOUTUBE, which tells it when its paid promotion banner shows up.

Its literally the best thing about the app.

(PS : on the stock youtube mobile app, I for some reason used to get constant ads for p0rn, which I found annoying so I switched to vanced)

Hello there,

This is an issue I have faced and have heard from many of my friends as well. And yes, I know it is really frustrating, and this bug is quite common, as far as I've heard. I ended up watching videos with this issue for several days (I only have my laziness to blame!). But, when I asked about this to a friend of mine was when I understood that it was actually a bug. Only after that, I reinstalled the app, and everything has been fine till now.

Do try deleting and reinstalling the app, and I hope it works for you!
