Yo, What's up with mega RTX price spikes???

Redrooster

I totally forgot the reason why I was searching up my GPU on Amazon, it wasn't anything important. But I looked up RTX 2080 Supers on Amazon, they were all $1,000+ now I know that the RTX cards are pretty expensive, but when I bought mine back in January, it was only $750. Any idea why the sudden spike in prices? I wouldn't think it would be Covid-19, most places have been open for a couple months, so it shouldn't be a supply issue (at least not to my knowledge). Any ideas why this is? (More importantly, I could possibly flip my used 2080 Super for 1k and buy a 3080 when it comes out, lol jk)

Especially when you consider many people will just wait for the RTX 30xx series to release.  People will buy the next-gen GPUs or wait to buy 20xx on discount after the 30xx release

My guess is they stopped producing them a while ago to free up manufacturing for the new series, so supply is drying up.

You’re lucky, in Australia some RTX 2080Ti’s are 2500$ AUD or 1700 USD

Yeah lol. I’m paying 800$AUD (572$ US) for a PC with a Ryzen 3 3100 and a RX 580 so not all too bad.

That's still a bit much... That's a $400 PC here in the States.
