EVGA Supernove g2 paperclip help

mousesnob

My summer job this year has involved handling electronic waste, have come across alot of this to throw in my rig. Ive recently come across the evga supernova g2 1000w psu. Although it does not have any cables. I know how to do the standard paperclip trick, however this psu does not have any of its modular cables. Im uncertian of which connector to bridge to test it. Id rather not spend money on cables for a psu that might be defect.

Psu came from a guy who dropped of a couple of antminers so im very uncertain wheter or not the psu works

No, look at where the locking tabs are in the diagram. The connectors are the other way up compared to your picture.

Bottom row, second to last pin on the left is the PWR_ON pin. Ground is one pin to the right of that, so third from the left.

The G2 series have a 0RPM fan mode that won't spin up until it's under a certain load or temperature.

Believe it's called ECO mode, there should be a physical switch on it.

Yep i tested it both on and off. I think the poor psu has been mined to death.

Possibly, or the fan motor has died. Bad luck on that one it seems.

Even if you somehow make the fan spin, how do you know that it's safe to use and it's not pushing 12V on the 5V or 3.3V rail?

Idk i have access to plenty of expendable old harware, but id still need cables to properly test it i guess.
