Pure Base 500DX, weird humming noise

Schokio

Hey guys,
using my new case for almost one week, and the last day I started to notice some humming noises.
At first I thought it would be the PSU or something different, but it always disappeared after some time.
It's quite loud sometimes, til I noticed that the sound is coming from the front IO USB 3.0.
By slightly moving it, the humming stops, but gets back after a while.

Is it a common issue, and how can I fix that ?

My first thought is that it might be vibrations. When the humming starts touch the components sse if any of them are vibrating more than expected.

My first and only guess would be, that one of the included Pure Wings is causing the humming.
But it's quite weird for me, that if I touch the port or put in/out an USB that it sometimes stops.

Like now, it stopped without doing anything. Fan speeds were the same the whole time.

Then it might be the io shield.

To be clear, I am talking about the *front* IO - the humming comes from there

ah that is weird i have no idea. I've hear about audio devices like mics buzzing through the usb but not the usb itself

Yeaa, first I thought it would be some coil whining. I was surprised that the loudest spot was the port itself 😅

Definitely not such low frequency humming.
Currently I can't say how exactly it sounds, 'cuz right now it isnt happening.

It's like a mix of coil whine, and a squeaky fan.

I tried recording it, but it resulted in rather hearing the fans, and not the noise, even tho the noise was louder.

But I'll try again if it appears.

It dose sound like a electricity hum. The cause is probably a faulty usb port. I don't think you will be able to fix this if you can and if it annoys you too much you might have to return it (if possible). the common cause is a bad connection between wires.

It doesn't really annoy me. I only were concerned if something else is bad.
But the USB port is still safe to use, isn't it?

Only thing that annoys me, that I dont know when exactly it starts doing it :o

I can't contact the manufacturer, because I can't find the damn serial number of the case.

Normally its on the backside, but there is nothing >.<

They already replied 2 hours ago. Waay quicker than I thought.

They never heard of such problem as well, but straight up offered a replacement part.

Is that part difficult to replace? 😅
