I have a central computer which is running virtual machines. One of them is running Windows 10 Pro.

When I was doing the update to switch from 1808-1809 to 1909, I went to the statistics of power consomption of the vm and then I noticed that it was using approximately 11,64 GB of my 12 GB ram dedicated to this vm. And I don’t know why.

And at this time I’m writing this post. It kept saying it’s using 11,64 GB of ram. Maybe it’s a problem with a problem with windows or it’s from my central computer. I don’t know.

CPU : i7-2600 8 cores Base clock of 3,4 GHz which 5 cores is to the same vm in question.

12 GB of ram

No GPU

Video Card : Microsoft basic video card

100 GB of memory space

Have you tried opening task manager on the virtual machine to see what is using so much RAM?

~edit: Does the host have 12 GB and you dedicated all of that to the guest, or how much memory do you actually have?

What Eigenvector asked, does the host have 12 GB of RAM and you tried to dedicate all 12 GB to the VM? If so you can't do that, and Xen is dedicating less than 12 GB of RAM for the VM so your host OS doesn't get starved of RAM and fall over.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Q1: The host has a total of approximately 32 GB of ram which 12 is dedicated to the same vm in particular

Q2 : At this time when I post this reply, task manager show me I use 2,9 GB of ram. Maybe I need to install a plugin.

For info, the host runs Xen Orchestra (XOA) which is based XenServer/Citrix Hypervisor
