Why is my Motherboard not fitting in my case? Can anyone explain?

Upgrade875

Hello! I’m a noob to pc building. I recently got a pc case with the dimensions of 16.40" x 6.92" x 14.80" (H x W x D). I have installed on my motherboard a basic  Hyper 212 Evo cpu cooler with (4.7 x 3.0 x 6.2) (L x W x H). The width of the pc case on paper looks like it can accommodate the height of the cpu fan. However, when I installed my motherboard, the cpu fan was to tall. Can anyone explain what I’m missing? Reply’s appreciated.

It will fit the cooler. Just not with the motherboard, standoffs, cpu, etc.. as well.

If you're interested in a product please download and read the manual first.

The Hyper 212 is slim but quite tall.

There both shorter 120mm heatsinks (Tranquillo) and shorter bigger heatsinks (Ninja 4).

Do you use ram with big heatspreaders like HyperX Predator? You could mount the fan on the other side and make it a pull setup.
