400$ that isn't too bad. Chromebooks are still useless.

I disagree, this would be perfect for my grandparents. All they do is general web browsing on their computers, but they have trouble using something like windows and they usually just end up filling their laptop with bloatware and slowing it down until they buy another one. They recently just got a macbook pro, which I guess will be fast at just web browsing for quite a while, but so would this and it costs like 1/5th.

As I read what I just wrote, I can see it makes no sense. Hopefully you understand what I mean :D

i know but i suspected once 4k becomes more mainstream 1080p will take over even tho there are some very decent prices 3200x1800 notebooks now but u know how manufactures are they want to squeeze every penny out of u even the new tech costs the same.

I see them everywhere used for Schools, they are selling quite a lot, people is putting Linux in them (you easily can) and get away with a slick notebook at cheap prices that they can use for all their light tasks.

This systems seem like a good deal at 400 bucks if and only if you're willing to ditch Chrome OS and install a Linux flavour like Linux Mint or (once it matures a bit more) SteamOS on it.

They're not useless.  I don't think they're for normal consumers like at home but these are perfect for schools.  At my school we all have a school Gmail and use Google Drive  and in one of my classes we only use Chromebooks

no THESE are useless compared to other chromebooks, they use a exynos (phone) cpu.

i would rather pay 100+$ less and get a faster haswell cpu so you can install a common linux distro on it. You also get the same battery life of 8.5h (see the acer c720 available for 250$)
