Here's my IndieGoGo campaign 'summary' thing.

I WANT YOUR OPINION! NOT ADVERTISING!!! PLEASE READ THE WHOLE THING BEFORE COMMENTING!

~~~~~
Who Are We?
We are people that are fascinated by video games. We have shared the passion to develop video games since a very young age. Just the thought of creating a world that people can enjoy and spend hours in amazes us. We hope to bring these world to you through the power of Unity! (Game Engine)
This campaign was made to acquire funds to bring you our creations! We do not want to stick to what everybody else is doing, we want to bring you something fresh. That is why this campaign is VERY important to us. We can not create games if we are not properly funded.
By contributing, you will be helping us out a LOT! We need the proper equipment and software to develop proper games, we do not want to publish 'garbage'. (Games with wonky mechanics and weird animation) You will be allowing us to have professional software to create a highly polished game!
What is the game?
The game will be titled 'The Seventh Floor' and will be a story-driven first-person game with elements from the horror genre.
We really want to focus on STORY. Getting the player 'lost in the game' is our #1 priority.
What We Need!
We NEED $16,000 to bring this game to reality! If we do not reach our goal we CAN NOT create this game!
How your contributions will help us!
Purchasing Software
Photoshop, Maya, Unity Pro, etc.
Purchasing Computers
We will be buying the parts and building them ourselves to save money.
Paying Developers
Nobody wants to work for free!
OTHER
Webhosting, fees that pop up, etc.
Extended Campaign!
<Graphic Here>
Original Goal: We will make the game!
Oculus Support: We will add Oculus Support to the game!
<Graphic Here>
Behind The Scenes: We will record us making the game and post the video(s) on YouTube for you to watch for FREE!
Other Ways You Can Help!
If you can not contribute through IndieGoGo and you want to help, you can do the following!
1. Facebook - Share this campaign with your friends on Facebook!
2. Twitter - Tweet about this campaign! #The7thFloor
3. Anything - Talk about this campaign on a forum, write about it on your blog, or simply mention it to people!
(PLEASE DO NOT SPAM!)
~~~~~

My question is, would you contribute if you read that? (Disregarding how much money you have)
If not, what is it missing?

Technically, I think he's asking for feedback about his "pitch", so he might be fine. He doesn't have a link to the fundraising page or anything like that.

still..

@OP I wouldn't contribute, Imo indiegogo/kickstarter is kind of stupid.

If I was to contribute, I wouldn't do it unless I could see previous products made, so I knew I wasn't getting ripped off.

I think you might want to change the title of this thread. "Would You Contribute?" can sorta be misinterpreted as "Will You Contribute?". Since I'm assuming this thread is asking for a critique of your sales pitch, the title could do a better job reflecting that.

EDIT: To be more on-topic as to your question, maybe include more information about how many people are working on this project, and what kind of experience they have?

-snip-

Didn't you just get into game design? It's a little early for you to already be considering doing something like this.

Usually people make kickstarters after they have substantial content to show people, you don't have anything major to show and your asking for $16k? You require the money to just buy the software TO MAKE the game. There's no trust in it for the pledger, and your 15 right? Their should be more important things that you should take priority to instead of developing a game for sale like this.

I've known 3D modeling since I was 13. I used free software but I want a more professional look. (And I don't want to pirate software)

I have pretty substantial content.

Really though, if you want to make games you should make free games now so you get experience and feedback. Make games with your own assets and tools you have available to you. It'll give you good footing for making games in the future..

'Own assets'. I don't know if you're talking about Unity assets, but if you are, I make all my own models.

Then show it, use what you have to drive the interest of your game.

Can you show us gameplay footage and gameplay mechanics? There are tons of horror games out there already, does yours being anything new to the table that people will want? Just you asking for the software to develop is a big problem, If I saw that as a investor my percentage of actually seen fruition from my pledge drops a lot.

EDIT: I'd like to add most kickstarters that are even remotely successful has content and footage to show the pledgers, its too sketchy if there's nothing to show.

Showcasing earlier works would prove that you actually know what you can expect from the project, I would never contribute to a project that runs off of baseless ideas such as "passion" and the alike. Show people what you can do, and they will support you.

Also, you need tell us more about the game; Show concept art, scripts and dialogues and give a more in-depth background and story to the game.

Also Also, who are "we"? "We" could mean industry veterans, or a bunch of hopeful 12 year olds. Give us profiles on the people that are going to be involved in the development.

Cheers,

Linus

I have on a different thread. I don't want to spam a bunch of pictures on the OP.

Here's the thread:

I'm sorry but that's not even close to enough content to get me interest to pledge. That's literally a single image to me....

I'm not even close to finishing the trailer, It will be an overview of one of the rooms. With me in the background talking about the game.
