Chipset Drivers??

I recently finished my first every PC build and am now in the process of installing the latest drivers.

I went to the Asus website on my mobo page and downloaded the latest chipset driver, but continuously am met with this error1743350798_1603ERROR.thumb.PNG.738d3cb00daaa0e292f5bbff154c020b.PNG

This error won't go away. I have tried sfc, disabling windows defender and setting default locations

If I choose the Custom Install option for the driver I get this

509941724_CUSTOMINSTALLSCREEN.thumb.PNG.482a1dbe1dd675152f082bdcab23b3d5.PNG

This shows the driver as installed, but probably not fully.

Would it be safe for me to press the 'Uninstall Current Software' and then download the Chipset from the AMD website instead?

Any help is appreciated.

I might be missunderstanding here, but it seems you are trying to install graphics drivers............

Generally speaking you dont need a chipset driver, its mostly for other stuff like wifi controllers etc that may want them.

Yes, the Chipset drivers AMD provides are up to date and there is usually nothing special with the drivers ASUS provides.

Geezz, idk if this is my fault... are graphics drivers normally labelled 'Chipset' on the manufacturers website??

They're GPU drivers. Don't know how you mixed those up lol. It's alright though.

Download the chipset driver directly from AMD's website, not from ASUS.

Ye I knew that. I thought I had partially installed them from the ASUS website, but you guys have pointed out those were graphics drivers ffs.

So I guess it's good for me to install the Chipset Drivers now right?

It is a b450

Will the partial installation of this Radeon software interfere with my system at all? I am using an NVidia GPU

Probably not
Just to make sure, run the graphics driver again and choose uninstall

Thanks for specifying lol. Serious question: Is it normal for the Graphics Driver to be under the 'Chipset' heading on the drivers page?

No. This is most likely ASUS's web team mistake IMO

This should undo the several times I tried to install this, right? Sorry to be a pest, but I want this PC to last a good while without upgrading and don't want to make a mistake on Day 2. I have someone else on another thread saying I should do a clean install of the whole OS because of the 'mess' I've created?

Now I should be able to install Chip set from AMD and be good to go right?

lol, i'm sure they did it, no way I downloaded Radeon software knowingly with an nvidia gpu. The file name even says 'chipset'

Just my luck they decide to mess up in time for my first build.

Yes, hopefully you read the file name before you clicked at least
Unless the file is a bunch of random letters and number and whatnot

File name for the actual Chipset Driver?

If you're talking about the ASUS one, the folder also said 'chipset' so I had no idea

Thanks for all the help! I assume you've done this all before.

Just to clarify, I should be ok on the repeated attempted Radeon installs side of things right? Since I uninstalled the partial bit that installed and am using nvidia anyway?802120248_CHIPSETINSTALLSUCCESS.PNG.e059cdd1842a8fd6a3db72759dd3c394.PNG
