Aside from running slowly, nothing special will happen.

That depends on the application but overall system performance would likely be slow but any program that is RAM heavy would probably manage to run but again it'd be very slow.

I guess you mean like really fast ram?
The CPU will just run as fast as it could. Basically imagine you had the divine RAM that god himself made for you, that just writes the data instantly to the cache of the CPU as soon as it wants to have it.
Then the data still has to be processed. So the CPU would just run as fast as it possibly could, but it still will be very slow. What happens if you put the best tires on a cheap car? it won't suddenly go very fast or accellerate much faster.

Processors havent been under 1ghz in 20 years now.

What cpu are you talking about?

Adding more RAM will only add more Random Access Memory for the CPU to use.  So the frequency at which the RAM speaks with the CPU can matter, but Id take a guess that in your proposed case it wont matter at all (the speed of the RAM)

Speed of What ram??

CPU frequency under 1000mhz????

He won't be using more than probably 2-4 GB of memory on a 20 year old platform......

I'm only taking wild guesses here, bare with me :P

I knew how to add more RAM to an imac g3 and wasn't sure if i should solder a better cpu. Anyways I will probs solder a new cpu. Ty every1
