What do you guys think about Ray-Tracing feature? seeing how next gen consoles will be using amd chips and how inaccessible the rtx cards, would it die just like how sli did or will nvidia will try to push it because i think with graphics like these days, there's really no more room to improve at graphics wise or it will looks to realistic and ended up not being a "game"

The next gen consoles and next AMD graphics cards have ray tracing support.

It's basically like how amd launched crossfire when sli came out, right?

IIRC they have had the option to 'enable' it for 5000 series cards since launch, but it would perform poorly and they wanted to develop it mroe.

Nvidia just got it released first... that's all.

Current PC spec. in my profile.
Can I realistically call myself a gamer, if I only play ONE, twenty year old game...?

Did you test boot it, before you built in into the case?

WHY NOT...?!

Don’t care much for it. Especially for such a large performance hit for real time. Seems more like a slow pace game feature.

No,it won't die since people like better graphics even if the hardware can't run it smoothly (Crysis) and it's a great marketing point for game publishers to use ("We have ray tracing!")

Ray tracing will get wider support and major improvements in the future,i expect it further down the road to be the standard for graphics in video games.

AMDs Ray tracing solution is not out yet and who knows when it will happen.

The only game I have played that I consider it a necessity is Control.

On games like Metro Exodus and SOTTR I really don't care if it is off or on.
