The old ryzen cpus may have been more picky on ram. But these days they're all doin pretty well.

So with the same price i can get

1- Trident Z 32GB (2x16GB) 3600C16

2- Trident Z NEO 32GB (2x16GB) 3200C16 (amd optimised)

So is the marketing term of "amd optimised" really with the extra buck?

It just means that it was validated to work with an AMD cpu.

That doesn't mean that other ram won't work just fine.

Nah. Get a regular non-overpriced 3600MHz CL16 kit or a 3200MHz CL14 Samsung B-die kit and optionally overclock it.

Or you can get a 3600 16-16-16-36 Samsung B-die kit which would be the absolute best option for Zen 2, and maybe overclock it to 3733/3800MHz as long as your CPU's FCLK can get to 1866/1900MHz.
