Amd VS Intel

Is the core i9 10900k currently the best consumer chip out there or is the 3900xt better? Typically I'm looking more in terms of value and general use case not in raw performance.

That's entirety dependant on what you need the computer to do. Some things will run better on Intel, some things will run better on AMD.

Depends on what your use case is.  There are chips that have more cores for less money,  and therefore do some things better.  Doesn’t include gaming though.

No. It's not even the current Intel line up.

If by best you mean best at gaming, among the best in the Adobe Suite (unless all you do is Premiere Pro exports) and probably the best fun in terms of overclocking, then yeah I guess.

Otherwise no, not really.

So fast if you can utilize 128 cores.  Max single thread is 2.5ghz though, so not for everything.  Or even a lot of things.  It’s an option.  It’s all about use case.
