CPU for gaming PC (need help)

I want to build my first ever gaming PC and I am not sure what CPU to pick.

My budget is about 1300$ for the PC itself and I heard good things about the Ryzen 3600x.

I also heard that Intel is still better if you look only for raw gaming power (I will mostly use it for gaming).

Need some help!

Considering your budget, Ryzen 3600.

Do you need guidance with the part selection for the rest of the PC?

at a 1300$ price range, an intel wouldnt be the choice, even if its for gaming.

AMD is everyone's best bet, unless you have 2000-3000 dollars to spend

what are the specs you have selected so far?

😕

no

if your considering it then just get a 3600

its just a slightly binned 3600 with higher clocks

no worth it.

I just played around with a color-themed build for a friend a few minutes ago. I'll just post it, maybe you'll find some inspiration: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/txsJrV

Intel is extremely hard to justify as the prices, heat and power draw of their products are absurd.

The Ryzen 5 3600 is by far the best value CPU on the market and delivers top tier gaming performance without issue. It's easily the best option for you.

This is what I picked so far. Do I need a cooler for the CPU or is the stock cooler enough?

I don't need additional storage and for the Power Supply I have no idea.

The case is not important and will be the last issue on my list.

3600 or 10600k

This. The 10600K is competitively priced and will actually probably net you a bit more perf, but it's not going to be mind blowing or anything. It's a perfectly good option, though.

It might also behoove you to hold out a bit for the Ryzen 4000-series chips. At the very least, it'll push the price of the 3600 down further, but if you actually get one they should also beat the pants off Intel's 10th gen lineup. Zen 3 is supposed to have more cores and higher clocks at the same price point.

500GB won't get you very far these days with games. For example: If you download COD Warzone right now that thing would be almost half full. I would recommend getting something like an additional 2TB HDD. If you are set on using the 2070 Super I would get a 650W Power Supply to give just a bit of headroom. Look for one that is ideally modular and Gold Plus rating.

Stock cooler will be fine for that CPU.

Efficiency doesn't even have to do with quality

There are titanium rated units with really bad performance.

When you say " with ideally 80 plus gold efficiency" what would that hint at ?

That I like efficient power supplies. Also it was "Ideally modular and gold plus". Not picking a fight, just don't like words put in my mouth.
