RTX 2070 vs RX 5700xt

Hey, i'm buying a 1,000 dollar pc, and am in between the rx 5700xt and the rtx 2070

Go for the 5700xt.

5700XT's only about 3-5% faster on average or something along those lines. How much can you get each of them for?

Used card, use it for a few months, buy next gen in a few months.

If you have to buy a high end card now, I'd personally go Nvidia.

I'd say anything 20 series is high end. 10 series low and mid.

AMD doesn't make a better card.

Honestly if they're at the same price then I'd just get the 2070, unless you're certain that you're never going to use NVENC or Shadowplay.

AMD has equivalent features right now, so those really aren't as big of selling points anymore.

Yes, it does. The performance is effectively identical, and the visual quality is virtually indistinguishable when actually watching the resultant video instead of doing frame-by-frame stills comparisons. VCN 2.0 vs Turing NVENC is a very close matchup. (in games only, exclusively camera footage is better with Touring NVENC due to the dedicated learning hardware being trained specifically for it)
