Swap Corsair Power Supplies: RM with SF - Need to Re-Route Cables?

foogison

I have decided to swap my current corsair RM750 with an SF750 given some clearance issues in my itx build. Both are fully modular.

Wondering if i need to re-route the cables with those provided with the new power supply or if i can simply detach my old power supply and plug them into the new one?

Google the corsair modular cable compatibility stuff.  There is a photo on the webs they have saying which modular cables can be used across which PSU lines.  To busy to dig it up myself atm

Depends on which RM750 you have. If it's the old one with a yellow label on the side, you need to get a new 24-pin cable. If it's the 2019 one with a gray label on the side, you can just reuse all the cables.

Thanks!

I ended up deciding to just switch them out because the cables that come with the SF are actually fully individually braided which i was not expecting!
