Can't uninstall McAfee on my laptop!

Statik
Go to solution Solved by Statik,

Update, I downloadede the MCPR.exe removal tool from McAfee and it was able to get rid of it. Thanks for the replies.

Hey guys, so I bought a ROG Zephryus G15, and it came with McAfee preinstalled. I'm just doing some house cleaning and I'm trying to remove it, but I can't. Here's my issue.

1. When I go into the "uninstall" in my windows settings, I click uninstall, then McAfee Livesafe opens and says "Select what you'd like to remove" but there is no options, and the "remove" button is greyed out.

2. So I went to my Program Filesx86 and tried to just delete the McAfee folder, but I can't of course, because "McAfee Process Validation Service", "McAfee Management Service", "McAfee Access Protection", and "McAfee" are all running. For the first two when I try to End Task I get a "Access is denied" popup, and for the last two, literally nothing happens when I end task.

How the hell can I get rid of this? Thanks!

Can try booting into safemode and deleting it there, and if that doesn't work, force it through command line in safemode

You could try safe mode, or maybe turn off McAfee and reboot and try. Idk I've been lucky with my McAfee pre-installation luck

Either @piratemonkey or quote me when responding to me. I won't see otherwise

So I think I tried to uninstall it a while back and something got fucked up. Here's what I've tried.

1. tried to boot into safe mode, and uninstall, no bueno, same issue.

2. tried to open the program to see if I could "close it" then uninstall, nothing happens when I try to open it.

3. In safe mode, I deleted all folders from program files and program files (x86), then rebooted, it's still somehow running in task manager

4. tried to redownload a free trial from their site, thinking then I could uninstall, didn't work.

5. tried to uninstall through command line, but when I list programs, it doesn't show up?

In settings it still says the file is 1.00GB. Is it possible the file somehow got fucked up trying to uninstall it in the first place, and now it's just stuck there?
