Most people use a device for 2 years and get a new one on a contract. Apple only support devices for so long because it allows people who can't or won't spend so much on a new device to still get into the ecosystem. As soon as the updates stop, Apple devices are worthless.

I'm certainly not an Apple fan, but I don't see how a 2 year old Apple phone would be too old to bother with. I also disagree with Apple devices being worthless when the updates stop - it generally still takes a while for app updates to not be supported anymore.

Generally holds true with Android phones more so than Apple phones. The 5S is still supported by Pokemon Go devs despite being released well past 7 years ago. The iPhone 6S will likely get iOS 14 as well.

It’s been leaked that all currently supported iOS 13 devices are going to get iOS 14.

I mean why not? The A9 is a little slow by today’s standards, but it still has a usable amount of RAM. 6s was a great series. Even LTT gave it phone off the year back then, and it’s still kicking.

Makes sense.  I just looked it up.  Was released in 2015. Should have a year or two left in it if Apple keeps to how they do things.  There’s apparently one company still selling them.

The A9 was kind of the beginning of ARM compatible cores being put in the same sentence as some of the older x86 big cores. (Not faster than Intel’s cores, mind you, but something resembling an actual fight in whatever benchmarks that are cross compatible. )
