Anyone Still Use IRC ?

I use IRC a Lot since january 2020  and run a few channels on it currently.

Depends on what, really: I do use IRC every now and then to pop into various open-source projects' channels to ask stuff. To hang out and chat with people, though? No. Then again, I am an unpleasant hermit that no one likes, so I don't hang around and chat with people anywhere else, either.

haha yeah i see your point, i love irc because i love eggdrop bots since i write tcl scripts for them so i kind of have to use irc

i use it when i need to pop into galliumOS's channel to ask a question or something, otherwise i don't use it much

I've used IRC since 1997 I think.. still use it today on a small, unlisted server with all my geeky friends.

In my experience, IRC, TeamViewer and some websites' own chat functions have basically mostly been shut down in favor of Discord.

So can't say I've used IRC in actual years.

hmm well networks like freenode still have like 250000 users

so i wouldnt say it's shutdown

 

and quakenet has like 150000 users

 

so around 2 million users across irc

 

although i do agree discord has shutdown a lot of good things

 

i dont think IRC is over
