B450 ASUS Motherboard with Ryzen 5 3600

If there's a "Ryzen 3000 Ready" sticker on the motherboard's box, it doesn't need a BIOS update to POST with Zen 2. PCPartPicker will have that warning present on all non-X570 boards, as not all boards are guaranteed to ship with the required BIOS. To my knowledge though the latest batches of B450-F boards do come with Ryzen 3000 compatibility out of the box.

That being said, I wouldn't get that board for that price. You can get something like a B450 Tomahawk Max or Mortar Max for less, and those offer better VRMs which should be capable of running up to a 3900X at stock speeds.

The Mortar Max has two M.2 slots.

if it says ryzen 3000 ready on the box then no bios update is required like @mateyyy said. If it doesn't say anything on it then you will need a older amd cpu so that you can update the bios. But most boards now come out of the box ryzen 3000 series ready
