Worth Selling i7 6700K and Motherboard?

About a year ago I picked up an i7 6700K and an ASUS Pro Gaming Z170 motherboard off a friend for $110. Seeing how expensive these components sell for used ($250-$300) is it worth selling them and upgrading to something like a Ryzen 9 3900x? I’m considering doing a build with 1080 Tis in SLI and I don’t want the processor to bottleneck them.

yes you should sell for the 250-300.

SLI in 2020 is pointless.

I Would sell for like 150$ together, $100 for the board 50 for cpu.

 

selling separate 125 for the cpu, 65 for the board

AMD blackout rig

 

cpu: ryzen 5 3600 @4.4ghz @1.35v

gpu: rx5700xt 2200mhz

ram: vengeance lpx c15 3200mhz

mobo: gigabyte b550 auros pro 

psu: cooler master mwe 650w

case: masterbox mbx520

You really think you can get 250-300 for a 6700k and a board?

ryzen 5 3600 and a decent am4 board is cheaper than that new

old top end intel chips sell for way more than they should

its like a 75$ board and 200-250$ CPU

Yep, that’s the only reason I’d consider it. It holds up well enough for gaming but when I could get a 12 processor and motherboard for like a $300 premium I really started thinking about it.

Just because they should sell for less doesn’t mean they do. People who are looking for a used 6700 or 7700k usually usually already have a motherboard for the platform already. So, instead of just buying a new over priced cpu they also have to buy a new motherboard and possible ram also. 

 

I definitely think it’s worth selling and upgrading.

I'd sell it, but wait for the new Ryzen chips to come out.

Unless you're going Intel, in which case the 10600k is an excellent option.
