WD VelociRaptor 1TB $49USD

Yes. I remember the WD Black idling at 55C and ran like 75C when transferring files without direct airflow and make tons of "tick tick tick' noise. The Velociraptor is a 10,000rpm drive. You definitely will hear it when it spins up.

Idling at 55c is kinda warm, geez. So a Blue would be worse?

Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Corsair H105, Gigabyte x570 Aorus Elite, Corsair Vengeance 32GB 3600MHz, EVGA RTX 3070Ti FTW3, Samsung 850 Pro / WD SN850 / OCZ Trion 150

ASUS MG279Q, Corsair Carbide 275R

No, Blue and Red run much cooler. They are fine without direct airflow.

So a larger HDD cache is what would be best?  My knowledge is limited when it comes to storage.

It really doesn't matter, just buy the consumer 2TB drive lol

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Being cheap mostly, used to be for lower rare earth metal usage, but they stopped making them as well as a while ago
