MSI undervolting went wrong. Cpu doesnt go above 2.59Ghz

Hi everyone ,
got forwarder here from a friend because i need some good advice for a change.

I own a MSI GP75 with a i7-9750H.
But , while i gamed the temps became out of control.
Decided to look on the internets.
Did LM mod , undervolting , and everything went fine (and i should have stopped here).

Then , like a week ago , i found a YT vid where it was explained how to alter registry settings to temper with the CPU and thus getting even lower temps.
Can't find the video anymore , didn't backup the registry.

My CPU now pumps out  2.59Ghz max.
Load at 100% and temps in the 50-55C range.

I tried almost everything:
1-Repasting (again, did it 4 times now) with LM , or thermal grizly Conductonoat.
2-Bios "reset to defaults" saved , and rebooted.
3-Checked every setting i can think of in power management.
4.Uninstalled all programs related to the undervolt : Throttlestop , Intel XTU, even MSI afterburner.

What to do now?
I think i  tried everything besides a hard reset of the system untill yesterday evening.
I tried through the MSI Dragon Center to reset , but it failed for a unknown reason.
Then windows reset , same thing.

Have i bricked this laptop?

You messed around with the Windows registry. Since you didn't take a backup and apparently can't remember what you changed, you pretty much have to wipe the laptop and reinstall Windows from scratch.

I also recommend learning a lesson here: don't go messing around with the registry, unless you know what you're doing and even then, take a backup or at least write down what you changed.

Yeah about that , i'm in the hospital , don't have a USB drive in my vicinity , and getting my hands on one is next to impossible due to Corona.

As you modified the registry, you will probably need to reset windows......

Bricked would mean not working. It is clearly working so no, it's not bricked. Also, yes, messed-up registry-settings can be fixed by full reinstall.

Undervolting doesn't brick CPUs, it only makes them unstable if the voltage is too low....

You don't need to, you can just reset windows from the settings app.

@Racer_be - An i7-9750H running at 2.59 GHz means that Intel Turbo Boost is disabled. Open the Windows Power Options and have a look at your power profile. If the Maximum processor state is set to 99% instead of 100%, your CPU will run at 2.59 GHz instead of full speed. Your registry is likely fine.
