Non-upgradable might as well go full Monty and get one of those SFF systems. CorsairONE kind of thing. Boutique upgradable I don’t know. Lot of choices. IBuyPower had a funky rep after that cooler fiasco. Not sure if iBuyPower falls into upgradable or non-upgradable. Not a pro, not even very good. I’m just old and have time currently. Posted June 2, 2020 10 minutes ago, JayR said: would 16gb of ddr4 4000 be better than 32gb of 3200? No, because 4000 is too fast. There’s this weird thing about the ryzen2 infinity fabric: if it goes above 3733mhz it runs at half speed. 32 of 3200 will be slower than 16gb of 3600 for anything that uses less that 16gb (which is every game ever) but faster for things that use more (like workstation stuff) kinda depends on what you are doing. the aorus elite WiFi is a little more money but a much better board. It will actually handle that 3950 without choking. Not a pro, not even very good. I’m just old and have time currently. Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake. Intel Pro 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet Network Card No. The 1000 Gigabit rating is wrong, it should be 1000 Megabit which is 1 Gigabit. So does the one for onboard, 10 megabit, 100 megabit or 1 gigabit. I’m not real worried about the AIO. 240mm AIO is more or less 240mm AIO more money is mostly about less noise with those and while 140mm is probably not enough, 240 is more than enough. Big air might also be an option but it’s not offered. So lower end 240 AIO should be fine. The kraken will be a bit quieter but it’s more money. im a hair worried about the PSU. 800w and 80+gold are nice and all but they don’t say whether the PSU is actually any good or not. PSU stuff is all about component safety. If a PSU goes it can wreck your whole system. I’ll throw the PSU tierlist at you while I’m at it. Not a pro, not even very good. Posted June 2, 2020 AIO stands for All In One. It’s a liquid closed loop cpu cooler with pump Rez and radiator in a single sealed unit. PSU stands for Power Supply Unit. It’s the box with cables that turns wall ac into a couple different voltages of extremely even DC. It’s got big capacitors and stuff in it and is the most physically dangerous part of the machine. Because it supplies power to everything if it blows up (they can actually blow up or catch fire unlike the rest of the machine) it can send enough voltage to fry any component in the machine. A good one resists doing that and has redundant protections so hat if it does fail it won’t hurt the rest of the machine when it does. A cheap one doesn’t so it’s both more likely to fail and will do more damage if it does. Not a pro, not even very good. I’m just old and have time currently. Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake. Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.
